Processors

Processor in laptops are typically lower than the processors in large desktop computers, although nowadays some major laptop companies, such as apple, dell and Sony are using desktop processors to gain a performance edge. Generally a student won't need a very high processor such as Intel core i7 unless they will be encoding videos or running engineering applications. That being said, students will be looking at Intel core i5 or i3 because not only will it be more then enough to run their daily tasks but they will have a longer battery life. If you want an Intel core i7 laptop, it will normally be more expensive with a cost of short battery life therefor an i5 or i3 will have a longer battery life. All in all, unless your a gamer or an incredible computer decoder you shouldn't be looking at a high processor. Another thing to be looking for with processors is the clock speed which is the laptops ability to read and process instructions which are measured in gigahertz, such as 1,2 GHz or 2,2 GHz. The higher the clock speed, the more expensive your laptop will be and the shorter the battery life will be.
